Ghana center-back John Boye is set to finally make his return to action for Stade Rennes after spending close to 15 weeks on the sidelines.

Rennes manager Philippe Montanier is likely to include the the 26-year-old in his 18-man squad to face Valenciennes at the Route de la Lorient on Saturday evening in a Coupe de France tie.

Boye has been out since September after damaging his knee while training with Rennes and missed Ghana's World Cup qualifying play-off games against Egypt.

The former Heart of Lions man returned to training in mid-Decemeber but insisted he wanted to gain full match fitness before venturing back onto the field.

If the Ghana international gets on the pitch for Rennes on Saturday, it will be his first game for the club since appearing in their 0-0 draw with Lille in August.
