In-form Ghana defender Harrison Afful was outstanding for his side Esperance in their 2-0 win against Club African in the Tunisian Ligue 1 derby.

Afful set up Khalil Chamman to calmly slot home the first goal before playing a part in Heythem Jouini goal to put the game to bed.

He put up a man-of-the-match performance in the 119th derby with Esperance winning 46 and Club African recording 28 wins.

Afful’s form will delight Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah as he wishes to get his players in top form for the World Cup finals.

Afful’s form will also delight Germany and Portugal. We may have to move Essien to Right full back as he’s not as good as he used to be and then Kevin Prince Boateng at Essien’s position like last 4 years. Waris will be th unknown weapon

Afful is too good!! He is a modern day lateral defender but just like all our lateral full backs, they look great when attacking but poor in recovering!! Afful is not the only culprit here!! We have tried k Asa and there was the same problem!! Great in offensive and bad in defending! We ll try essien too and the same problem ll repeat itself!! The solution is very simple! We need strong central defensive pairs to cover our lateral defenders when they attack!!

  3. Great news for Ghanaians, hope all other potential players across the globe find tune their form before June
