Ghana defender Opare in full-time action for Standard Liege in Europa play-off

Daniel Opare was in action for Standard Liege.

Daniel Opare dispelled reports that he was unfit for international duties by playing full-throttle for Standard Liege who defeated AA Gent 7-0 in the Europa League play-off.

The right-back missed the 1-0 first leg defeat away in the play-off in the Belgian Jupiler League.

Opare was a full-timer in eight of the ten matches in the Championship play-offs before picking up a minor injury.

A minor muscle injury allowed him to make only 12 appearances but in those games played full-time.

The 21-year-old was however left out of Ghana’s squad for two 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches next month.

It was thought the right-back was left out of Ghana’s squad because of injury but with his his full time action for Liege, it is clear he is fit for action.

GFA is busy calling inactive players while some good players like OPARE is out there playing 90mins week in week out and you guys are saying he is injured. SHAME ON YOU AA and GFA!!!!!!!! GOD be with you OPARE you’re world class player

  2. Ijahman says:

How can Kwasi Appiah choose Inkoom who always sits on the bench and leave out Opare who is active and playing 90minutes all the time. Either Appear is taking bribes or something must be wrong with him. Opare is far better than Inkoom. Opare is our best right or left full back now.

  3. sabato says:

U see/ Now u guys will now bear wit me that fire will burn all those selecting under-performing players over players in form. I am even shocked that some stomach journalists are defending the call up of Inkoom, bcos they also get ‘tips’ from him, when it is clear that the player is not getting games even at the second division. Nti Oman wei 3b3 yei ni?

  4. Eiiiiii Ghana. Is it not this GFA boss who said Opare is injured just yesterday when he came out to defend Kwesi Appiah’s squad so why then Opare is playing the next day. Oye asem oooooo Ghana. Kwesi Appiah n Kwesi Ohiatekyi. Hmmmmmmm.

  5. Trinity says:

How can a gud coach select inkoom ahead of opare.oh!kwesi wat a shame.

  6. aby says:
