Baba Rahman is out of action for three weeks

Ghana defender Baba Rahman is likely to miss a soon-to-arranged friendly for the Black Stars next month after undergoing teeth surgery in Germany, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

The Greuther Furth left-back underwent the operation over the weekend to solve the minor problem which has been outstanding for several months.

Doctors have now ruled him out of action for three weeks following the surgery, also allowing him time to rest after a hectic off season.

The defender was part of the Black Stars in the double World Cup qualifiers against Sudan and Lesotho in June before playing at the U20 World Cup.

With the Black Stars scheduled to organise a friendly in mid-August, Rahman is unlikely to play as he is expected to return to action in late August.

This is a blow for coach Kwesi Appiah who is likely to rely on the left-back for September's crucial World Cup qualifier against Zambia as defender Kissi Boateng is suspended for the tie.

Rahman's participation in a friendly before the Zambia match could give the coach the chance to observe him to see if he could play in that position for the Black Stars.

But he will be available for the Black Stars in the match against Zambia.
