Ghana defender Akaminko on target for Eskisehirpor in Turkey

Posted On Saturday, 23rd February 2013

Jerry Akaminko scored for Eskisehirpor in their 2-2 draw at Istanbul on Saturday.

Ghana defender Jerry Akaminko scored on his Nations Cup return for Turkish side Eskisehirpor in their 2-2 draw at Istanbul on Saturday.

The Black Stars strong centre-back equalized for the visitors in the 52nd minute after Holmen had put the home side in front.

Eskisehirpor increased their lead in the 81st minute through Zengin before Holmen brought the home side on level pegging.

Akaminko was part of the Black Stars squad that placed a disappointing fourth at the recently concluded 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

He is expected to be re-called for the crucial 2014 World Cup qualifier against Sudan next month.

Is he not d guy that pull d jersey of a congolese attacker inside the penalty area against congo at the just concluded afcon? Mtcheeew an average defender to the core.

    • Black Stars Fan says:

Yes he is the one. The incident occurred at the left back position while is a central defender. The question is, who was playing that position and where was he?.
Please do not blame Akaminko for that penalty because because Akwasi Appiah doesn’t know how to use our players.

  2. Dr Who says:

@Black Stars fan,you are right.K Asamoah left his position left back position and that created a space for Mbokani to exploit thereby forcing Jerry out of position.it wasnt his fault.
