Ghana defender Addy marks Vitoria debut with winning goal

David Addy scored the winner on his Vitoria debut

By Ameenu Shardow

Ghana defender David Addy scored on his debut for Vitoria Guimaraes in Friday’s 1-0 win over Moreirense.

The 21-year-old scored what eventually proved the match winner in the 59th minute to get his career at Guimaraes to a flyer.

The 2009 U-20 World Cup winner was however yellow carded for his wild jubilation in the crowd of his team’s away fans.

Addy’s return to regular first team action is a source of joy to many who felt his immense talent was being put to waste during his torrid time at FC Porto.

Twice the Ghana international had to be loaned out since arriving at the Dragao from Randers FC two years ago.

He finally secured a move to Vitoria following his exclusion from the official Porto squad for the current campaign.

I watched the match he was phenomenal, taking set pieces etc. It’s good for his confidence, he is very good player but fails to show it when it matters most. I hope he would go on doing amazing things.

David is worth more than what he is getting now especially when it comes to Black Stars call up.
Its time for the coach to call him and give him the opportunity to prove himself.
He is a natural left footer and the ideal person to play in the left back position. Big ups to David, i encourage him to continue the hard work
