Ghana defender David Addy has been handed the all-clear to begin immediate training after suffering an injury scare on Saturday.
The 22-year-old was withdrawn after just 37 minutes in Vitoria Guimaraes’ 1-0 win at Rio Ave on Saturday after complaining of pains in his right knee.
The left-back was initially feared to have sustained a serious knee injury.
But scans revealed Addy had only sustained a knee inflammation of which he needed only a day’s rest.
He has now been given permission to return to training on Tuesday.
News of Addy’s availability hands Guimaraes a massive boost ahead of their UEFA Europa League match Croatian club Rijeka on Thursday.
The ex Wa All Stars defender remains a key component of the Vitoria Guimaraes team since arriving at the beginning of last season from FC Porto.
