The Ghana FA’s search for a new coach for the Black Stars is nearing its completion with three of the five shortlisted coaches availing themselves for interview over the weekend.

Michel Pont, Juan Ignacio Jiminenz and Avram Grant have all presented their case before the GFA’s interview panel.

Grant, the ex Chelsea manager was the last to take his turn with the panel on Saturday following similar sessions with Jiminenz – earlier on Saturday and Pont on Friday.

The interview panel say they will be presenting their report to the Ghana FA’s Executive Committee despite reports of the expected late arrival of Bernd Schuster for an interview.

“We don’t know about that [Schuster’s arrival]. We are for now done with the interviews and will be presenting our report on Monday,” GFA Vice President and member of the interview panel Fred Crentsil told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“I don’t know whether there will be anymore developments but then we have interviewed three coaches and we will be presenting a report on that on Monday.”

Marco Tardelli failed to show up for the interview – preferring to have his session done in Europe – a preference the GFA flatly rejected.

Bernd Schuster on the other hand, according to reports is looking to arrive in the country sometime next week to be interviewed.

It however appears the opportunity is gone for the German trainer with the interviewing panel set to table their report which will contain their recommendations towards who will become the substantive replacement for Kwesi Appiah.
