Ghana coach Yusif Bassigi says his team is determined to excel at the African Women’s Championships despite being drawn in a tough group.

The Black Queens are drawn in the acclaimed ‘Group of Death’ alongside heavyweights South Africa, Cameroon and Algeria.

Ghana hope to win its first African title when they make a 10th appearance at this year’s finals which is being staged in Namibia.

The Black Queens will however need to dig deep to first make it through their tough group which will help them qualify for next year’s World Cup in Canada.

Coach Yusif Bassigi is confident his team will sail through the daunting challenge of being drawn against some of African giants in Group B of the African Cup.

“The group is clearly a tough group and we have our work cut out for us,” he told Hot FM.

“But not withstanding that, I believe we have a good enough squad to do well.

“We are determined to do well so we must prepare very well for the tournament.”
