Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah will give Adam Kwarasey a hearing before taking a final decision on the international future of Norway-based goalkeeper, the Ghana FA has confirmed.

The 26-year-old was one of the major casualties of coach Kwesi Appiah’s latest Black Stars squad for upcoming assignments against Uganda and Togo.

Kwarasey questioned the competence of Ghana’s goalkeeper’s trainer Nassam Yakubu after he was dropped for Fatau Dauda after the Black Stars’ opening game at the 2014 World Cup.

His post-tournament comments did not to have gone down well with coach Kwesi Appiah who ultimately decided to drop the Stromsgodset shot-stopper from his squad.

And even though this reason for his recent omission from the Black Stars team is an open secret, the Ghana FA says coach Kwesi Appiah will look to reconcile with his goalkeeper after games against Uganda and Togo.

“Regarding Adam Kwarasey, his comments after the World Cup have not been helpful,” GFA spokesman Ibrahm Sannie Daara said at a press briefing on Friday.

“He questioned the competence of the technical team and also questioned the basis for inviting some players.

“If a statement is made about why a player is called or why someone was left out, it has a potential of bringing a rift into the team.

“And when these things happen, there is the need to deal with it behind closed doors and ensure it is resolved before he comes back into the team.

“After this qualifier, the technical team will look to meet with Adam Kwarasey to address his issues so that if there is an opportunity for him to come back to the team, then so be it.”

Ghana will thus be without Kwarsey when they host Uganda in their opening 2015 AFCOn qualifier on September 6 in Kumasi.

The Black Stars will make a short trip to face neighbours Togo five days later in Lome.
