Ghana coach Maxwell Konadu has congratulated his players for their tactical discipline after beating Nigeria on penalties in the CHAN semi-final match with ten men.

The Local Black Stars played more than 50 minutes after defender Kwabena Adusei was sent off in the 64th minute.

But Ghana were still resolute and put up a brave fight to thwart efforts by the Super Eagles who could not score in regulation and extra-time.

Konadu praised his troops for punching above their weight and withstanding the pressure from the Super Eagles.

"The boys were over stretched, there were muscle cramps here and there and we had a red card which didn't help us at all,” Konadu said in a post-match conference.

“It made us to change our game plan totally so I think that it was difficult but the boys proved once again that mentally, they were very strong and they were also very tactically disciplined when we changed our system.

"These boys have made a massive statement with their performance against Nigeria."

Ghana will face Libya in the final on Saturday at the Cape Town Stadium.
