Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah will submit a provisional 30-man squad to FIFA early next month from which he will name his final 23-man team for the 2014 World Cup finals.

This means players who will go to the World Cup will know their fate next month while the dreams of others will be crashed when Appiah names his provisional team for the tournament in Brazil in June.

The ex-international will then select 25 players for the pre-World Cup friendly against Holland on 31 May before settling on his cast for the tournament in Brazil.

Two players will be dropped after the exhibition match in Rotterdam to leave him with the final cut of 23 players to make the trip to USA for preparations.

“I will submit a 30-man squad to FIFA early next month,” the mild-mannered Appiah disclosed on Accra-based radio station Happy FM.

“But after the game against Holland we would have settled on the required 23 players that will represent Ghana.”

The Black Stars will be based in Los Angeles where they will play Honduras before heading to Brazil.

Ghana will start their Group G World Cup campaign against the United States of America on 16 before facing Germany and Portugal.

Who do you think Ghana should drop from the 30-man squad for the World Cup? Make your views known in the box below:

cant wait for the black stars game in LA!

  2. michael says:

Don’t include dauda in the list else God will punish u for that. He is not playing regularly hope u know that.

  3. 21guns says:

ÀA PLEASE SELECT ENERGETIC AND PLAYERS WHO CAN SHOW IMPACT IN EACH GAME,

I will be glad if you select 80% of the players which demolished Egypt.

And put sentiments and nepotism couple with patriotism and put K.ADAM in the pole,at least he is doing well in his club day in day out.

  4. Maxwell Johnson says:

No favoritism whatsoever pls, selection should purely be on merit not what the player has done in the past. Those that are not playing regularly and also shit players like Inkoom, Afful, Sumaila, Lee Addy among others have no business in the team. We’re not going to joke @ the WC, the ball is in your court now AA.

  5. bomahe says:

What! To stop the unstoppable Ronaldo? Mbamba.

  6. Man power A.K.A PITO says:

Akwasi Appiah must play KEVIN PRINCE BOATENG over WARRIS.
EXPERIENCE COMBINED WITH QUALITY BEATS ALL ELSE.

If Appiah does not give preference to newbies to play our games at the world cup then we will go far.

APPIAH PICK PLAYERS WHO HAVE WORLD CUP PLAYING EXPERIENCE and DOING WELL over so called PROMISING PLAYERS. M’ano asi!

  7. selfmade says:

AA knows what is good and he ll definitely do the right thing for us!! He has a solid reputation to protect as he is the first Ghanaian and for that matter the first Blackman to qualify Ghana to the WC and I know that he ll present a very solid squad!!

  8. spectacle says:

@man power, can see the hate bud. dont sweat it because what is written would come to reality. your opinion does not change a damn thing. Jealousy is a disease.

  9. johnny says:

    Manpower,

The Gyan-Waris duo is very potent, and must be maintained KPB can play behind striking pair.

  10. bebeto says:

Wat he talking about d list already out olele,fatua,m.otto,b-yeadom,annan,John Mensah, vorsah all made d cut

  11. keith from germany says:

We can all hope that he calls the right players.
Players that merit a call in the national set up must be called.
But because of nepotism and favouritsm i can promise you guys that the right will not be done.
A player like dauda who hasnt played a lot of games with the sea robbers dont deserve a place at all.
But because the goalkeeper coach nassam yakubu is his main man he will be called at the expense of regular keepers.
@selfmade will you welcome a dauda call up eventhough you and i know that he dont deserve a call up?
Are you still gonna back AA by calling fringe players?
Your opinion about it will interest me.

  12. Logic says:

    @keith
Did you forget that dauda played all the qualifying games? don’t forget that there was a time where kwaresey had lost form and dauda stepped up big time.

  13. rootsbwoy says:

I am sure inkoom n adomah will definitely make the cut whether they are active or not…its a puzzle i ll never understand.all the same i believe in the Black stars

  14. kuukuphilly says:

    U guys should stop speculating.

  15. keith from germany says:

@ br logic kwaraseylot his confidence i will rather say because the goalkeeper’s Coach Nassa Yubu alys punished him for his mistakes.
im not saying dauda is bad but that dude hasnt bben active for a Long time.
would u risk taking a Goalkeeper who has only played two leagues matches to a touernament lke Worldcup?
LOGIC THE WORLDCUP IS A DIFFRENT BALL GAME ALLTOGETHER.
U AND I KNOW that dauda got his Chance due to favouritism and nepotism.
eventhough kwarasey was playing regularly and auda was warming bench in the mediocre asba south african league he still get the nod ahead of kwarasey.
dauda has been very jittery for the stars ue to his Club inactivity.
if AA want to succeed then he has to take active Players to the tournaments.
kwarasey was superb against Montenegro.dauda cant eve command afirst tem place in These medicre absa premer league.
come june 16 adambathia larsen kwarasey will an the post for the stars.

  16. Logic says:

@kieth I agree that kwaresey is clear number 1. No doubt about that. But if the coach selects dauda as second choice that’s understandable.

  17. selfmade says:

@ Keith… I like dauda a lot because he is an excellent goalkeeper but one thing we all know is that kwarasey ll always be number one!! Dauda had two wonderful games against cape Verde and Dr Congo in south Africa but one thing that people didn’t noticed was that dauda was SHOWBOATING AGAINST OPPOSITION STRIKERS and sometimes calling for shots against him and though he get away with that against these half baked African strikers, it all be suicidal for Ghana if he does at the WC! For a keeper to be showboating and calling for shots from stikers is unprofessional and no serious football country as well as manger will field-such a keeper at the WC!! Now ONE THING I have personally noticed about kwarasey is that he LACKS CONCENTRATION when he is not involved in the action!! He is too gentle in the posts but something happens in the turkey match that is making me to believed that he now know and understand the Africa terrain because he was really PISSED OFF with his- colleagues when he conceded the second goal which tells me that he now understand why he is in the posts!! He is now understanding the African mindset and I know this is a good sign and he all sure get even better for our subsequent matches!! I know see more serious and no more gentle kwarasey and that’s what African football is all about!!! AGGRESSIVE NESS!!

  18. Benito says:

Keith,we are sick and tired of your new found words–”favoritism and nepotism”..are these the only words you know from the dictionary? Give us a break!!!!

  20. keith from germany says:

Benito thats whats going in the blackstars.favouritism and nepotism.
The only people who cant eridicate these words from my mouth are kwesi Appiah and his technical staff by selecting players that deserve a call up.
Until then favouritism and nepotism are the key words

  21. Benito says:
