Ghana head coach, Kwesi Appiah, led about 22 players to Holland yesterday to kick-start the Black Stars' preparation for the 2014 World Cup.

The 'Silent Killer', who started mild preparation for next month's tournament with a non-residential camp in Accra, travelled with most of the players who were in Accra for the training.

The key players in Ghana's squad like captain Asamoah Gyan, Andre Ayew, Kwadwo Asamoah and Emmanuel Agyemang Badu as well as defenders John Boye and Jonathan Mensah all travelled with the team.

Sulley Muntari was granted permission by the coach to attend to a pressing family issue thus delaying his arrival in Holland by one day while Kevin-Prince Boateng joined the squad from his Germany base.

Michael Essien and Adam Kwarasey are expected to join the squad by Monday to start preparation for the international friendly with Holland in Rotterdam on 31 May.

Kwarasey, who was in Accra last week for the non-residential camp but returned to Norway to help his club Stromsgodset, will link up with the squad same day as Appiah will look to run the rule over the squad.

This means by Monday night the Black Stars coach should have his full squad for training to kick into full gear for next month's tournament in Brazil

Ghana will depart for the United States after the Holland friendly for more training and the friendly against South Korea on 9 June in Miami.

Appiah says he will then prune down his squad to 23 players before heading to the United States of America for the final phase of preparations in Miami.

Ghana's final pre-World cup friendly will be against South Korea in Miami before the team arrives in Maceio, their World Cup base on 11 June, five days before their world cup opener against USA.

They will also face Germany and Portugal in Group G.
