Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited has presented an 18-carat harp and products to Kwesi Appiah for qualifying the Black Stars to the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals.

The ceremony took place in Accra on Thursday night to honour the ex-Ghana captain.

Appiah became the first indigenous Ghanaian coach to chalk that feat last month when his side lost 2-1 to Egypt in Cairo in the return leg of the playoff but advanced 7-3 on aggregate,

"We are particularly excited because our premium brand Guinness, official beverage sponsor of the Black Stars, a brand built on quality, passion and the drive to win everywhere; a brand made of more, clearly associates with coach Kwesi Appiah for demonstrating these shared qualities,"  GGBL Managing Director Peter Ndegwa said.

"Coach Kwesi Appiah is more than a coach. He is the first local coach to qualify the Black Stars to the FIFA World Cup. Like Guinness, coach Kwesi Appiah is indeed made of more."

Guinness also announced that it will be supporting the Appiah's realize his dream of setting up a sports academy in Ghana.
