Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah is demanding reciprocal respect from his players as he looks to pick up the pieces following the side’s disappointing showing at the 2014 World Cup.

The Black Stars crashed out of the tournament staged in Brazil after just the group stage without picking up a win.

Ghana finished bottom of a group alongside Germany, USA and Portugal with just one point to epitomize the level of disappointment endured by the Ghanaian fans.

Appiah’s camp in Brazil was rocked by agitation by players over delayed payment of their appearance fees.

He also had to deal with issues of indiscipline with Sulley Muntari and Kevin-Prince Boateng at the forefront.

The former AC Milan duo have since been slapped with an indefinite ban from the Black Stars after they were expelled in the lead up to the final group game against Portugal.

But coach Kwesi Appiah in putting behind the unpleasant Brazil experience says he only demands reciprocal respect from his players.

“It been always easy for me since day one when I took over,” he said.

“I gave every player 200 percent respect and all I wanted was 100 percent respect not even the 200.

“I expect that the players in camp now will remain united and live as brothers.”

Appiah is desperate to lead his side to victory in their opening 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Uganda on Saturday to win back the love and affection of the fans.

The Black Stars must make a strong impression with a preferred massive win over the Cranes to return into the good books of the fans following the disappointment in Brazil.
