Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic says he has identified the strengths of the his next 2012 Africa Cup of Nations opponents Mali in their next game on Saturday.

Stevanovic scouted the Eagles when they beat Guinea 1-0 in their opening Group D match on Tuesday to go joint top.

The Serbian trainer is bent on hatching up a plan to secure back-to-back wins and enhance their chances of reaching the second phase of the competition.

Stevanovic says he has enough knowledge on his opponents to halt them in their tracks.

“Mali showed they are an experienced team, they know how to defend and attack and capitalize on the mistakes of opponents. It is a very dangerous team,” Stevanovic said.

“It is a young team and wants to show they have quality.”

The two sides will meet in Franceville on Saturday.

That does not mean the malian threat has been identified. They would also sit back and counter unless we score first

  2. Chu says:

One weakness of Mali is that they lack karacta whn dey r frustrtd and so we mst score 1st at all cost

  3. Chu says:

Morova, dey knw our wiknes lies in our wings so let kip thngs lockd on de sides nd wrk thru de midle and a goal in 20mins

  4. KK says:

NO NEED COMING OUT WITH STATEMENT LIKE THIS .IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETHER HE KEPT IT IN MIND.GHANAIANS ARE INTERESTED IN WHAT HAPPENS ON THE FIELD,AND NOT PLANTY MEDIA TALKS.LET YOUR TALKING BE GOOD RESULTS AND GOOD FOOTBALL.

  5. Santo says:

we have no fire upfront and weaknesses in the wings. why doesnt the coach use opare and ayew for left back and midfield. and then Nkoom and takyi/tagoe on the right back and midfield? what the hell is he waiting for? tagoe has prooved good on right wing even more than a striker. takyi is very skillful and fast. So why is this man tinkering? For christ sake, with the right selection, there is no wqay we should be panicking against this mali side. I honestly think Jordan is not finding his feet so Tagoe will be a better start. Stop using Muntari and Painsil too much. I can see the sense in having some senior players on the pitch to motivate the boys but if they dont perform substitute the pronto! and bring on sharp guys from the bench. I will be very disappointed if boateng, Asamoah, Takyi, opare dont play asap. I also want to say that our kwareesay is showing signs that he is not used to African play. He is always nervous and i wonder what he will do on one and one situations. Charlie thats why we wanted Kingston a second goal keeper to be a good influence round him. Kingston is not in form but he has immense experince we could use in camp. If kwaresay gets injured are we saying Daniel Adjei will be up for it? Charlie this is our tonament, we shouldnt fail ooo!!

    • Nii Kwatei says:

Please stop bashing Jordan. He is a great striker! But unfortunately he is an average winger. Last match Plavi played him as a winger. I think Gyan shouldn’t play the whole Mali match because of his injury so Jordan can now be deployed as our main striker. Then we have Dede and Kwadwo on the wings. Two central midfielders in Badu and Muntari. And either Dereck or Annan should shield the defense.
      Now that’s a winning line-up.

  6. kuuku says:

i honestly dont think jordan should start in this game let alone play a part of it.I was not impressed by his performance at all.The coach should find other options…

  7. bawah says:

THIS MATCH IS THAT OF MUSCLES SO LEAVE ASIDE BADU AND AYEW AND FIELD KWADOW AND DEREK.

  8. Hafsa says:

If jordon did not impres you, then who did?the fact is that the whole teams peformance was bellow average. If the midfieders does not give him the pass, how does he score.pls stop lambasting the young chap, pray and rally behind the team.I we pin ma down.

  9. Latif says:

Goran nearly kill us with that poor sqaud,we want to see good players like Dereck n kwadwo ashmoah on the pitch to be able to win all our matches

  10. kofi Africa says:

Mali Leggo!!! Ghana can’t handle Mali b cause Mali is going to abuse them. Can’t wait tomorrow for Ghana to get murked by Mali. Lets Go Mali French Africans are depending on ya.

  11. Bengin says:

Plavi is the weakess serbian coach gh has had…he had lil knowledge bout the game how can u keep usin inkoom n sulley out of position..talk less n deliver on the field serbian pig..MILO was tactical trainer

  12. GHANSON says:

U GUYS WANT THE COACH TO THROW ALL OUR BEST PLAYERS ON THE FIELD IN THE BOTSWANA GAME..RISKING INJURIES N YELLOW CARDS AND THEN WHEN THE TOURNAMENT GETS TO THE FINAL STAGES,OUR BEST PLAYERS WILL BE SITTING ON BENCH BECAUSE OF STUPID SUSPENSIONS… LET THE COACH DO HIS JOB!! I THINK HE KNOWS WHAT HES DOING..

  13. TN says:

I think it is time we Ghanaians learn to appreciate what we have and stop castigating the players and the coach.

  14. FUZIMAN says:

GOOD LUCK BLACK STARS I WISH U GOOD LUCK BY HIS GRACE EVERYTIHG SHALL BE WELL. GO GHANA GO BLACK STARS.

  15. MR.DSB says:

Please all Ghanians should keep their fingers cross and lets pray for them and stop criticizing the selection of the coach . I belive we are going to win the match because the boys will play their heart out against the Malians tonight.
