Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has heaped massive praise on Stephen Appiah describing him as an ‘exceptional’ personality.

Appiah became the first local man to guide the Black Stars to the World Cup after two previous feats were chalked by Serbians.

The ex-Asante Kotoko trainer has touted the credentials of the former Juventus ace and expects him to play a role in Brazil.

“Stephen is an exceptional person. I remember after the last World Cup he told me I was going to lead the team to the next World Cup,” Appiah said

“And I told him he was going there with me. He is one man who commands massive respect among the playing body.

“There should be a role for him in Brazil and there will be. He has to go to Brazil. But the management will meet and then everything will be made clear.

“I told him we’re going to Brazil together and I’m keeping that promise.”

Appiah captained the Black Stars to two successive World Cups in 2006 and 2010 in Germany and South Africa respectively.
