Ghana coach Akwasi Appiah

Coach Akwasi Appiah has urged continued support for the Black Stars despite a below par performance against Malawi on Saturday.
Ghana laboured to a 2-0 win against the Flames who were reduced to 10-men late in the first leg of the 2013 Nations Cup qualifier in Accra.
The Black Stars were overwhelming pre-match favourites but failed to translate their far superior ball possession into goals before a fairly packed crowd at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The relatively star-studded Ghana team’s not too convincing performance against Malawi has raised several doubts of the Black Stars’ preparedness to make the finals to be hosted in South Africa early next year.
But coach Appiah remains confident his team is very much on course and that he needs the support of all to be successful.
“I think it is important that Ghanaians should still give us the moral support and every support they can give,
“We tried our best and Malawi was a difficult team but we have another game to play against them.
“I believe the team will do better and the most important thing is that the support is there.”
Ghana will travel to Blanture next month for the second leg encounter against the Flames and must simply avoid defeat to secure qualification to South Africa 2013.
Bravo! Black stars…we are proud of you.CONGRATULATIONS!
Although we didn’t play well, it is enough to shut the mouths of Malawians and Zambia trolling on this forum.
I hope the Malawian coach will report back to Renard that his advise didn’t work.
