Grieving Asamoah Gyan gets coach's support

Ghana coach Akwasi Appiah has assured captain Asamoah Gyan of his team’s full support following the death of his mother.

The Al Ain striker’s mother, Cecelia Love Amoako was pronounced dead at the Ridge Hospital after a fatal accident in Accra.

The news has seen many Black Stars players already pledging their support to their captain and his family during this difficult period.

Coach Appiah has now also added his voice to the growing message of condolence to the Gyan’s.

“Indeed it is a very sad moment for those of us in football. My heart goes out to the player and his family,”Appiah said.

“I will urge him and the family to stay strong in such a difficult moment. We are all holding together.”

Asamoah Gyan is expected to arrive in the country on Friday to be with his grieving family.
