Kwesi Appiah made three changes in his starting X1 against Mali
Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah believes the changes he made against Mali worked to perfection.
Coach Appiah made three changes to his starting line-up against the Eagles at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium in Port Elizabeth.
Strong centre-back Isaac Vorsah played his first game for the side in the competition while Harrison Afful enjoyed his first start.
Evian midfielder Rabiu Mohammed took the place of injured Anthony Annan and impressed heavily.
The Black Stars dominated and created many scoring chances but could only manage a narrow 1-0 win over their opponent.
Their trainer Kwesi Appiah lauded the performance of the players who had a shot against the Malians.
“Vorsah is one of the best two central defenders in our country. During the first game he had an injury and for that reason he was on the bench,” Appiah said
“But as to those who came on, you always choose players on tactical reasons.
“Those who can play a particular tactical game against the opponent.”
Ghana will next play Niger in the final group B game on Monday.
vorah n afful realy impressed me.especially vorsah with his aerial superiority.
now where is real sabacious who always criticised badu for not being a complete player?
sabacious u see now.badu has always been my man.he has always been good playing for the stars.he brings the dynamism which is needed in midfield.i like the way he combined with rabiu mohammed.these guys kno themsleves very well cuz they played together at the under-20 worldcup in egypt 2009.
afful has realy improved sinve moving to esperance clud de tunis.
i hope as the tourney goes on atsu will start to blossom becuz this young man has got a lot to offer.
hope the boys concerntrate well on the niger game.
solomon asante was a delight to watch.
adomah has got the pace to overrun many defences.all he gotta do is to work on his final passes.but a good player though.
