Ghana coach Akwasi Appiah insists he was impressed with the performance of goalkeeper Razak Braimah who conceded three goals in just his first international start.
The CD Guadalajara glovesman was made to pick the ball out of his net three times in Ghana’s 3-1 defeat to Japan in an international friendly on Tuesday.
Braimah despite his assured performance in the first half of the game, fumbled too many a times in the second half to raise doubts of his first choice credentials.
But coach Appiah maintains he was impressed with Braimah’s output.
“I think he [Braimah] did well, you cannot blame him too much for the goals he conceded,” Appiah said.
“I don’t want to single out individuals for blame. It was a collective effort and therefore the blame should be equally shared.
“But on the whole I was impressed with his performance.”
Braimah impressed on his Ghana debut after coming on as a second half substitute in last month’s draw with Turkey.
He however failed to replicate a similar display in Tuesday’s defeat to Japan.
