Ghana coach Maxwell Konadu is delighted over the preparations of the Local Black Stars ahead of Saturday’s start of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in South Africa.

Ghana will kick off in Group C against Congo on Monday in the tournament reserved for only home-based players of member nations.

Konadu is confident his side will up for the challenge as the home-based national team make their third-straight appearance at the finals.

“Yes, we are very ready and positive about our chances in the group,” Konadu told www.ghanafa.org on Tuesday.

“We have prepared well and I hope the players maintain their focus and stick to the plan.”

Konadu and his team arrived in South Africa on Sunday after a week-long camp in Namibia.

“We have enjoyed a good build-up to the tournament. It’s a major competition and we needed this kind of preparations.

“We have tested ourselves enough from our participation it the Wafu Cup till now.

“I hope it goes well and we make a positive impact.”

Ghana are also paired in the same group with Libya and Ethiopia.

The 16-nation tournament will kick-off on 11 January and finish on 1 February 2014.

These were statements made by Coach Konadu after we won the trial match against Namibia
“Even though we won the game, I was not impressed with the way we presented ourselves,” he said after the game. “Generally speaking the Brave Warriors played better than us. They had all the possession and controlled the game.”
“At this level if we can’t keep the ball then we are not going anywhere. We have to work harder before we can think of winning any game in South Africa,”
Now three days down the line we have the same coach now telling us giving us the below statements
“We have prepared well and I hope the players maintain their focus and stick to the plan.”
“We have enjoyed a good build-up to the tournament. It’s a major competition and we needed this kind of preparations.
Now can Maxwell Konadu tell me what exactly has changed between the past three days and now for him to make those contracting statements of his team within just three days?
Sometimes I do not understand these coaches at all.

In soccer world a lot of things can changed even in a day with regards to preparation against opponents. Please do your home work well before you throw any questions

The home work done was that certain negative statements about the local black stars had earlier on been made before these positives by this same coach and I personally did not see him explaining what has suddenly changed within these three days to now seem to be giving us these positives and you say what?
