“I must commend the technical team and the playing body for raising the flag of Ghana high. I am indeed proud of you, well done and let’s keep up the spirit,” Gyan said in a statement.

Mubarak Wakaso scored the only goal of the match as the Ghanaians posted the narrow win over the Black Sharks at the Lisbon University stadium on Wednesday.

“I wish to thank all who supported the Gyan family during our trying moments, I on behalf of  my  family say we are  indeed grateful for your support,” the release added.

Captain Gyan, this is very nice. Your friendship with the squad will really make the players feel free to express themselves on the field of play. That is very important.
You are going to be one of our best captains. Keep the good work.
