Asamoah Gyan, a boxing promoter, has returned to his base in the United Arab Emirates after flying down to support his boxer Emmanuel Tagoe to clinch the vacant WBA International Lightweight title.

The Black Stars captain secured permission from his club Al Ain to travel to Ghana for the bout staged by his Baby Jet Promotions last Friday.

Gyan was amongst the distinguished guests in the stands for the bout which saw Emmanuel Tagoe emerge victorious over Joebert Reyes in a fourth round knockout.

Tagoe knocked down his Filipino opponent three times in the fourth round leaving referee Stanley Christodoulou no choice but to wave for the end of the fight.

Gyan, 29, however had to head back to his base in the UAE on Saturday to rejoin his club for preparations for their league game on Monday against Al Wahda.
