Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan was named in CAF’s best XI for the Year 2013 at Thursday’s Gala in Lagos.

The UAE-based striker is among a three-prong attack which includes Nigeria’s Emmanuel Emenike and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Gabon.

Gyan was named in CAF’s preliminary list for the 2013 Player of the Year but could not make the three-man shortlist.

Nigeria dominated the list with three players- goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, midfielder Mikel Obi and striker Emenike.

2013 Africa Cup of Nations winning coach and Coach of the Year Stephen Keshi was handed the team.

Africa best XI 2013- Vincent Enyeama – Ahmed Fathi, Fari, Kevin Constant – Mikel Obi, Yaya Toure, Mohamed Aboutrika – Emmanuel Emenike, Asamoah Gyan, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
