Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan is amongst the 10-shortlisted players for the 2013 CAF Player of the Year Award.
The Black Stars captain will however make a final three-man cut to earn his second final nomination for the prestigious award.
The Al Ain ace was shortlisted alongside Ivorian duo Yaya Toure and Didier Drogba.
Nigeriaââ¬â¢s success at the 2013 Nations Cup has not gone unnoticed as they are most represented with four nominations.
Ahmed Musa, Emmanuel Emenike, Vincent Enyeama and John Obi Mikel who were key to the Super Eaglesââ¬â¢ Nations Cup triumph make the cut.
So does Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Burkina Fasoââ¬â¢s Jonathan Pitroipa.
The final three will be named before the awards ceremony is held in Lagos, Nigeria on January 9.
