Captain Asamoah Gyan is counting on the rising form of his international colleagues at their respective clubs to power Ghana’s campaign at the 2014 World Cup.

The Black Stars are drawn in a tough group at the World Cup in Brazil where they will be facing heavyweights Germany, Portugal and USA.

Ghana is only making its third appearance at the finals but is aiming to get to at least the semi final stage.

With players like Abdul Majeed Waris, Kwadwo Asamoah, Samuel Inkoom, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu and Jerry Akaminko all improving their forms at respective clubs captain Asamoah is counting on the surging form of his colleagues to conquer the world in Brazil.

“Everyone is doing very well at their clubs and it is very important for us ahead of the World Cup,” he told Asempa FM.

“This is because the player’s confidence is boosted whenever they do well at their clubs.

“So with our players doing well at their clubs, I believe it will have a very positive effect on the national team.”

Ghana will begin its campaign at the World Cup against USA on June 16 in Natal.

The Black Stars will then take on Germany and Portugal in their subsequent Group G matches.
