Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan arrived on Monday morning to join his international teammates to open preparations towards the crunch game against Egypt.
The Black Stars captain arrived alongside his brother and former Ghana striker Baffour Gyan at around 11am local time from their UAE base.
Gyan’s arrival swells the number of the Black Stars players in town to open Tuesday’s training session at the Accra Sports Stadium ahead of the 2014 World Cup playoff on October 14.
The Al Ain ace will later on Monday evening be joined by English based duo of Michael Essien and Emmanuel Frimpong.
Italy-based trio; Sulley Muntari, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu and Kwadwo Asamoah have also already set off from their respective bases and are expected to arrive on Monday night.
Standard Liege’s Daniel Opare and Christian Atsu who played his first match for Vitesse Arnhem will also arrive tonight.
This will significantly grow the numbers of Back Stars arrivals ahead of the opening training session on Tuesday morning as some of the stars are already in the country.
Ghana will be looking to record an emphatic win over Egypt on October 15 in Kumasi to seal virtual qualification to next year’s World Cup in Brazil ahead of the second leg match a month later.
The Black Stars are chasing a third successive appearance at the World Cup while Egypt are looking to book their first ever qualification since 1990.
