Ghana boosts technical bench for AFCON, ex-France captain Marcel Desailly joins team
Desailly will join Ghana's tehcnical bench, says Alhaji Jawula

Ex-France captain Marcel Desailly will be part of Ghana's technical team at the at the 2015 AFCON in Equatorial Guinea under coach Avram Grant.

Lepowura, Alhaji MND Jawula, has hinted that Desailly would be part of the Black Stars technical team as they seek to reinvigorate the side after a disastrous showing at the 2014 World Cup.

Desailly turned down the opportunity to coach the Stars before the job was handed to former Chelsea coach Avram Grant.

But in an interesting twist, the Lepowura, Alhaji MND Jawula,  close confidante of Desailly, says the Ghana-born former France international will be part of the Black Stars team in Equatorial Guinea.

“I think what Mr Afriyie can announce today is that Marcel will play a technical role when we go to Equatorial Guinea," Jawula is quoted to have told the Graphic Sports.

"When that is done the Minister for Youth and Sports should organise a float for us in readiness to take the Cup that will land from Malabo.”

Alhaji Jawula also appealed to the entire nation to rally behind the team so they could have a successful tournament come January in Equatorial Guinea.
