Ghana captain John Mensah’s injury at the Africa Cup of Nations is not serious as initially feared, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.
Mensah suffered a thigh injury during Ghana’s opening day 1-0 win over outsiders Botswana in Franceville on Tuesday.
Further checks were run in Libreville on Wednesday where it was revealed he suffered contusion on his muscle.
A muscle tear could have kept him on the sidelines for a lengthy spell.
“His recovery will depend on the player and how he avails himself for treatment. We are working on him,” Black Stars team doctor Dr Percy Annan told GHANAsoccernet.com
“How soon he gets fit also depends on blood clot in the thigh. He will be fine.”
If he recovers in time, he should be available for selection for Ghana final Group D match against Guinea.
Mensah has been suspended for the Black Stars next match on Saturday after receiving a straight red card.
Thank the Lord God for this, I hope to see him back together with Vorsah in full match fitness against Guinea. God bless our homeland Ghana!
Great news! And please Plavi, don’t play Inkoom at the left full back position. Rather play Opare or Alhassan there, and Inkoon on the right. Pantsil’s crosses are pathetic when he moves forward.
@jk say it again bruv, plavi shd play d boys at their rightful positns n stop experimenting.Plavi we want d golden fleece n nothin short of dat.
I thank God for this peaceful good news.
