Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah and his Juventus side have mathematically won this season’s Serie A title after closet challengers  Roma suffered a 4-1 defeat at Catania on Sunday.

For Asamoah it will be in second straight title but for the Old Lady this is their third in a row.

The Bianconeri don’t play their Serie A game until Monday night against Atalanta, but that is now irrelevant.

Roma needed a victory in Sicily to keep the race alive, but were humiliated 4-1 by the bottom of the table club.

Antonio Conte’s men had already won the title in 2011-12 and 2012-13, but become the first Juventus team to win three consecutive Scudetti since the1930s.

It also means next weekend’s showdown between Roma and Juventus can be played without the pressure of a result.

This is officially Juve’s 30th Scudetto, so they will be allowed to put a third gold star on their jerseys from now on.

The club considers it to be their 32nd, as two were revoked in the Calciopoliscandal in 2004-05 and 2005-06.

The match with Roma will still be competitive since Juve would be aiming for a 100 points in a season. An unprecedented record in the history of Italian football. In order to reach that hallmark, they need to beat Atalanta tomorrow, Monday, and at least draw with Roma next weekend, then win their last league match the following week. That is, they need to acquire 7 out of possible 9 remaining points to reach their goal. It will make this Juventus squad the BEST ever.
