Ghana ace Andre Ayew has put an end to the rumours surrounding his future after confirming he has agreed a one-year contract extension with Marseille.

The 24-year-old is out of contract in the summer and has been linked a host of clubs including English Premier League duo Liverpool and Newcastle.

Italian Serie A duo Napoli and Inter Milan were also interested in signing him on.

But the son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele has decided to stay on.

“It’s true I have agreed a new one year deal. The last day, president Vincent (Labrune) called me and asked me to stay,” Ayew told L’Equipe in an interview.

Ayew came through the Marseille academy and was farmed out to Lorient and Arles Avignon before breaking into the first team.

He has been a key player of the Marseille side which lead the French Ligue 1 with one point.
