GHALCA Top 4 tournament calendar altered to make way for League start
GHALCA Top will be played for two-weeks.

The 2013 Ghana Premier League Top 4 pre-season tournament has been shortened from four weeks to two weeks, the Ghana FA has confirmed.

This new format is to make way for the start of the Ghana Premier League on 15 September so the Ghana FA can meet a FIFA deadline to end all leagues around the world by 18 May because of the 2014 World Cup finals.

The tournament will now run from 1-11 September instead of the earlier announced date of 1-22 September.

This was after a meeting on Tuesday involving the organizers, the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), the Premier League Board and the Ghana FA.

The tournament will feature league champions Asante Kotoko, Berekum Chelsea, Medeama and Ebusua Dwarfs.

GHALCA had a successful meeting with the representatives of the clubs last Friday in Accra where they agreed on a home-and-away format for the competition.
