GHALCA to meet clubs on Wednesday over league boycott threat
GHALCA chairman Alhaji Ali Raji.

The Ghana League Clubs Association will on Wednesday hold a meeting with representatives of the Ghana Premier League clubs who have threatened to withdraw their participation.

The sixteen (16) clubs claim they lack the financial wherewithal to compete in the top-flight.

The Ghana Premier League is without a headline sponsor for the season and clubs have only disbursed US$ 12,500 raked in from the SuperSport TV deal.

''We hope it will not get to that stage (where clubs pull out of the Ghana Premier League) or if that is the last resort, then there is nothing that we can do,'' GHALCA chairman Alhaji Ali Raji is quoted by CampioneSports.net.

''We will discuss the club’s finances in the 2013/2014 Premier League. We will take things as they come so that whatever decision we make on that day will be effective and binding.''
