German side Schalke set to sell Annan, four others - report
Anthony Annan could be axed by Schalke

Schalke are attempting to offload five players including Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan at the end of the season, German newspaper Bild reports.

The ex-Hearts of Oak pocket-size midfielder is deemed surplus to requirement despite been involved in few friendly matches in recent weeks.

The Ghanaian international returned to the Schalke first team last year following the expiration of his one-year loan deal at Osasuna.

He struggled to command a regular place at the Spanish side due to persistent injuries but looking strong to fight his way back into the Schalke team.

However reports in Germany suggest the 27-year-old will likely be shown the exit alongside Nigerian Chinedu Obasi, Lars Unnerstall, Christian Fuchs and Tim Hoogland when their deal runs out at the end of the season.
