David Addy being pursued by two German clubs

Ghana defender David Addy has emerged a January transfer target for Wolfsburg and Frankfurt, the German press have reported.

The 22-year-old’s improved performance since joining Vitoria Guimaraes at the beginning of the season has alerted European clubs of his immense prospects.

The two Bundesliga clubs have sent scouts to closely monitor the left-back in the Portuguese League.

The ex FC Porto player according to reports will leave this January despite joining Guimaraes just this summer if the interested clubs meet the Ghanaian’s estimated price.

Addy has churned out consistent displays in the Portuguese top flight and is a Black Stars hopeful for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

The former Wa All Stars player has also had loan stints with Academica Coimbra and Greek club Panetolikos.

  1. Timo says:

Very good, this boy has potential. He must be in the squad for AFCON, BS have overlooked him too long, he is playing 90 mins every week for one of the big leagues in Europe. Good luck boy, make Ghana proud

  2. Jaja says:

Not good news. Stay where you are, David. Stability and cosistency is important so try to finish this season in Portugal first and then look further..

  3. nana says:

should be black stars number one left back, him or richard kissi boaten (ghanas gareth bale). Harrison Afful plays right back for club yet we put him on the left he is decent there but im sure we all prefer a left footer in that position.

Good Luck Addy in your decision come January.

  4. Cunt master flex says:

    Hop he moves

  5. yopoo says:

Well done boy I told you your hard work will never go unotice hope coach Appiah pick this guy to the nations cup he is the best left back we have so far.

  6. keith from germany says:

im not doubting this boys talent but for the bundesliga he has to improve his pace n on his structure.
vfl wolfsburg has got twostrong left sided defenders in the persons of rapheal schäfer(who has got 4 international caps under his belt for the german national team)n as well as ricardo rodriguez who is the current left sided defender for switzerland.
maybe frsnkfurt will be good for him since alot of africans seems to farewell with this club talking about the likes of tony yeboah, okocha, mom iddrissou, karim matmour just to mention a few.
addy just gotta stay in portugal n get his playing time

  7. Alex says:

G.S…why are you referring to David Addy as a midfielder. Pls he is a decent natural left footer and looks very confident playing in the left back position for his club… He should be the solution to our left back problem ahead of Harrison Afful.
We pray you don’t suffer any injuries.

  8. dadaba gonshots says:

Can he ‘pump’ a bit? Director, lift some metals or something…

  9. Maxwell Johnson says:

He was really disappointing in the game against Cape-Verde, very good when attacking but poor when it comes to defending. He has to work on his tackles also, wish him all the best anyway.
