Turkish giants Galatasaray are close to signing Ghana defender Jerry Akaminko on a £14 million deal from Eskisehirspor, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively confirm.

Galatasaray appear to have beaten competition from French giants AS Monaco who offer a lesser sum of Â£9 million for the talented defender.

Akaminko's Eskisehirspor current contract runs out in 2015 but the club want to sell off their star players to defray an over £100 million that is consuming the club.

According to reports in Turkey, Eskisehirspor have accepted the offer from Galatasaray and Akaminko will go into for personal terms to complete the deal next week.

If the deal is completed, Akaminko will be playing for his fourth club in Turkey since moving there from Ghana Premier League side Heart of Lions in 2008.
