Turkish giants Galatasaray are close to signing Ghana defender Jerry Akaminko on a £14 million deal from Eskisehirspor, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively confirm.

Galatasaray appear to have beaten competition from French giants AS Monaco who offer a lesser sum of £9 million for the talented defender.

Akaminko’s Eskisehirspor current contract runs out in 2015 but the club want to sell off their star players to defray an over £100 million that is consuming the club.

According to reports in Turkey, Eskisehirspor have accepted the offer from Galatasaray and Akaminko will go into for personal terms to complete the deal next week.

If the deal is completed, Akaminko will be playing for his fourth club in Turkey since moving there from Ghana Premier League side Heart of Lions in 2008.

Playing with Drogba, Eboue etc in a Championship League will impact his game greatly. A versatile player Kwesi Appiah do not know how to use. Good Luck Akaminko, wishing you a fantastic season with Gala and with Black Stars at the world cup.
It’s time to prove your quality to the world.

now u guys see what i have been telling about this akaminko guy.
that guy is versaitile n Plays alot of positions.i hav been observin him since two n half years in the türkish super lig n i was very surprised kwesi appiah ignored him just becuz of one mistake he made against dr congo.
frankly speaking it was kwesi appiah’s selection n bad tactics that exposed the stars defence,
if we forumites take a Close look at that game ,kwadwo asamoah didnt played his left back posistion well always running Forward so becus of that, akaminko moved to the left n that is where the penatly happend becuz had Kwadwo asamoah being right there diuemerci mbokani would hav never won that Penalty,
we dont watch Soccer for wacthing sake but we watch to Analyse,
if u talk about current form, jerry must walk straight in the first Eleven becuz he is way better than afful n inkoom together,
Jerry we the true forumites of this Website will always acknowlege your great Performances.
your good works will definately be rewarded.
as at now None of our defenders in the national Team is worth 14 Million Dollars,
even issac vorsah was bought for 4.5 Million euros by red bull Salzburg from TSG Hoffenheim 1899.

  3. Boro says:

I do not understand why AA is not trying this guy and Sumaila at our lateral defenses where BS seems to be bleeding profusely in a situation where mensah, vorsah and Boye are fit to play in their central positions. If this works then Opare, Nkoom and Afful can then settle for second choices or increase the competion for those positions. Please, AA wake up.

    • yaw, chicago says:

Boro. I agree with you that we can try some of our versatile defenders in lateral defence. But I didnt expect Appiah to try that in the World Cup Qualifiers. Thats not a time to do trials, you know!

  4. Boro says:

@yaw: Yeah, i guess you are right he could’t have tried that during the QF but can do that now.

  5. keith from germany says:

why do we gaians always turn to insults if we disagree somebody’s opinion?
BRO aksantwi isnt thi Website a freedom of speech Website where u agree or disagree?
INSULTIMG SOMEONE JUST BECUSE U DONT SHARE HIS VIEW IS VERY CHILDISH.
As romans 12 verse 17 says never return evil with evil and verse 21 says dont let yourself to be conqured by the evil but rather conquer the evil with the good.
PS– what is the meaning of drafting a Player in a Team,if u dont know how to use him?
AKWESI APPIAH has surely learned after the afcon fiasco n i personally congratulate him for qualifying us to the mundial but still yet we are all saying the Problems he ishaving when playing against stronger opponents.
i dont criticise destructively like most of u forumites here do,but i rather criticise constructively because we all want the best results for the Team.
on this note i say hava a nice day mister askantwi
