Fulham’s Riise feels he is at his physical peak

Fulham defender John Arne Riise suggests he is at his physical peak despite his 31 years and the fact it is so late in a grueling season.

The Norwegian left-back has been a great signing for the Cottagers this campaign and is looking to help the club improve on their 10th position with his supreme fitness set to be a factor in the final five matches of the season.

“I’m feeling very good physically, I’m back to my best again and feeling like running all day,” Riise told fulhamfc.com.

“Against Chelsea (on April 9), with another game two days after the Bolton game, I felt really good and I think I’ve reached my physical peak now.

“We are on a high now after getting four points from two games (over Easter) and we playing as well as we did against Chelsea, so we’re just refreshing at the moment and trying to get ready for Wigan.

“It’s nice to know at the end of the season that I’m still feeling strong, so hopefully I can keep going for these last five games and come back nice and strong for the whole of the next season as well.”
