Frimpong's move to TP Mazembe still on despite latest injury

Posted On Monday, 15th October 2012

Yaw Frimpong will still travel to TP Mazembe despite picking up a hamstring injury

Asante Kotoko insist an injury picked up by Yaw Frimpong will not hamper his scheduled medical at TP Mazembe.

The 25-year-old suffered a hamstring injury in the 2-2 draw with AshantiGold on Sunday.

The right back has thus been ruled out for two-weeks – during which time he is supposed to undergo medicals with the DR Congo giants.

But Kotoko’s spokesman Listowell Yesu Bukarson says the injury will not have an adverse effect on Frimpong’s medical with the CAF Champions League campaigners.

“He (Frimpong) got injured in yesterday’s (Sunday’s) game ahead of his trip to DR Congo (for the medical,” he told MTNFootball.com.

“The team doctor in his report to management ruled him out for two weeks.

“The injury will be expressively made clear to the medical team of TP Mazembe to the extent that it will be factored as he undergoes the medicals.

“There will be no intensive physicals as part of the medicals.”

Frimpong will leave Ghana on Monday night to meet up with fellow Kotoko teammate Daniel Nii Adjei as both will take the mandatory medical with TP Mazembe.

This was after the Ghanaian champions accepted an offer from the former African champions for the duo’s services.

They can even choose to sell all the players in Kotoko now, after all management will not hamper a move to a foreign club by any palyer. Maybe Listowell and his boss can don the jerseys themselves and win the league again… idiots
