Friendly stricken Malawi mocks Ghana's game with China

Black Stars to play China in friendly next month

By Ameenu Shardow

Malawi’s FA President Walter Nyamilandu has described Ghana’s friendly with China as ‘merely an excursion’ even though they are yet to secure an opponent for the August 15 date.

The Black Stars will step up their preparations ahead of their 2013 Nations Cup qualifier against the Flames in September with a warm up game with the Asian giants in Beijing.

However Ghana’s opponent’s, Malawi say they are not perturbed by the seemingly serious posture of the Ghana FA towards the crucial tie and that they are at their own pace with preparations though confused by an earlier Caf directive which sought to cancel the August 15 friendly date.

“We have heard about that (Ghana’s friendly) and it comes as a great surprise and there appears to be conflicting message because Caf are saying August 15 is no longer on Fifa calendar,” Nyamilandu said.

“We are also pursuing a friendly match around the same time because we don’t want to be caught unawares.”

Ghana will host the first leg of the ultimate qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 9 before traveling to Lilongwe for the return encounter a week later.

  5. yvonne says:

These sadc guys ve mouth diarrhoea. even malawi re mockin GH. the only thing we can do 2 prune dem of their growin wings is to give dem a resounding beating, somethin lyk a 4-0 or more. as 4 zambia, i think they ve 4gotten the 4-1 baptism we gave dem nt long ago. we wil surely meet at afcon. watch the space

    • one andy says:

@Yvone incase you dont know the records straight. I will give you a free reminder of how many games Zambia have played against Ghana at a competitive level since 1992.Zambia was eliminated at quater final level at Afcon 1992 via a superb Abedi Pele strike. In 1996,we beat Ghana 1-0 at SA 96 through a joe bwalya scortcher in a third and fourth play off.Ghana later went on to beat Zambia 4-1 in an international friendly match in 2009 in England which Zambia was forced to use Zambian students resident in England due to Visa hitches for most of our national team to travel to England .In 2012 at Afcon Zambia beat the black stars 1-0 in the semis and went on to win the title. In june 2012 in a world cup qualifier,Zambia again walloped the black stars 1-0 at levy mwanawasa stadium in ndola.I guess from these statistics you will be able judge on your own if you are fair enough

    • SADC says:

You have 4gotten the 3-0 drubbing in Lusaka?..anyways lets not talk about friendly matches but the REAL THING,n since you like to play on the news i will tel u that u should be SHY buy now till we meet in Accra.

    • lucy says:

Oh i see u want to talk about friendly matches now?Dont forget that Ghana was beaten 3-0 in Lusaka, and……….

  6. Luapula Fish says:

Yes u beat Zambia 4-1 a team mainly comprised of UK based students n with only 1 player who play Chipolopolo. Black stars are not yet to beat Chipolopolo the Zambia u did beat in England is not even close to the Chan team. You can google that saga game 4 yourself ..u played Zambia UK based students n not Chipolopolo.Let’s meet in Accra or Kumasi in yo dilapidated stadia

  7. yvonne says:

I agree wid u on that. the problem is we dnt understand y u guys pride urself in beatin us or any of the other african giants. its nt our fault dat u wre called underdogs at afcon. u r here bcos u want 2 prove or shd i say rub it in our faces dat u re african champions. no one disproves dat ba in effect u ve shown us the reason y u wre called underdogs. even afta winnin the afcon, ur behaviour does nt depict dat of champions. u dnt need 2 drum it in our ears dat u re champions. if u want 2 b respected as champions, den u ve got 2 at least respect those teams u played against n nt drum it our ears. dats hw u earn pples respect.

    • one andy says:

@yvonne. we only chip in to contribute only when you prese nt wrong info about us.Personally i have been a Ghana follower for so long and i dont see why this 2012 Afcon win ew had should make you guyz not to even hear the name Zambia. As for the China friendly,i dont see anything wrong in that.We also played against India prior to Afcon 2012.The result we got was the trophy from the India outing

  8. NANA YAW says:

China is a good side, their FA Has been pouring a lot of money in China soccer and the national team recent years. Watch France vs China friendly and you will see for yourself France lost by a goal. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1Xd-B94djg

This should be more better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1muydsSltU&feature=related France Vs China Friendly

  10. Kofi jollof says:

It’s funny when the pauper thinks of himself as king, oh ZAMBIA.

    • lucy says:

Okay we are the best underdog in africa who beats every GIANT that repeatedly beats who ever crosses our path….huh,…sounds like DAVID and we definately gona wear that CAP.

  11. yvonne says:

ghanaians re nt bitter bcos u won afcon. its the manner in which u ve behaved ever since u won it. we ve got the impression dat u re arrogant ppl n until u become modest in ur comments, we aint gonna change hw we perceive u to be.

    • one andy says:

Your perception about us aint gonna break any bone in us and for your own info,it will be very nice for your so called soccer pundits to call us underdogs at SA 2013.

  12. SNOW DEMON says:

I DONT SEE GH GO THROUGH WHEN THESE 2 SIANO COACHES DONT HAVE ANY IDEA OF OF PLAYING AWAY LEGS

  13. chipolopolo fun says:

chana chana chana 30years with no cup anway chipolopolo for life

  14. yvonne says:

Wen it comes 2 football at all levels, we are nt of the same class. ask any ghanaian which national team is the best in africa n the person wil tel u egypt. ask the same question and a zambian wil tel u chipol…dats the difference b/n a true champion n an underdog turned champion. only zambians think their dr congo n chinese players re the best africa has ever seen. u dnt win admirers wid dis kind of attitude. ma question is, how long did it take zambia 2 win its 1st afcon? any answers?

  15. tintin says:

The Afcon started I think 1957.How many times ve these Zambian won and yet want to mock us.You ve not played in any major tournament outside Africa.U’ve only manage to produce only one player in ur entire footballing who could not play at the highest level..we will finally shut ur mouth very soon.

    • one andy says:

we played at 1988 olympic games after eleminating Ghana and went on to beat italy and Guetamala.in 1957 a third of Africa was not independent and participation was by invitation.@yvonne yes Egypt is the best considering that they won it consecutively on three occasions in a pool of 16 participants and not 30 years ago in a pool of 8 participants.Infact Zambia minted bronze at this tournament which happens to be the last you have seen and i was only 8 i dont know how old were you?

      • Kay says:

Well for you information, Ghana was the first African country to win a medal in Olympic football. So keep your so called second round to yourself.it is a record in only Zambia. Check Barcelona 92.

    • lucy says:

Alot of countries were not yet independent that tym including Zambia…let me say afew competed but here is the point ,win now under a free AFRICAN CONTINENT n prove us wrong…iam lookin 4ward to both teams qualifying so that we meet again in South Africa, it will b good before the crunch game in Accra n bcos of our low profile players we still gona b underdogs n we luv that TAG

    • Green says:

Zambia will come n spoil the party in Accra….sorry coach but you will definatey need to look out 4 yoself, travel if u can and let the dust settle.

  16. yvonne says:

i dnt think david wud ve lost 2-0 against sudan-a team u call underdogs. david was nt arrogant either. he respected ppl even wen he was a king. i wud jst say u have an up n comin team who re destined 4 gr8ness if only u do away wid pride n keep ur head in the game. look, its nt lyk we hate u. nigeria is our biggest n longest rival. bbc sports discuss even our friendly games 2 the extent of bettin who is gonna win. in recent tyms we v beaten dem consercatively n sometyms by large margins ba dat does nt mean we shd disrespect dem or provoke dem. dis is the mark of a champion n dats all we r askin frm u-a litl respect

  17. yvonne says:

we aint denying the fact dat its been 30 yrs since we last won afcon ba ma question is, hw long did it take zambia 2 win its 1st afcon after her independence? answer dat n lets continue wid our nice chattin?

    • Prophet says:

If we manage to beat the Mighty Cranes of Uganda and you overcome the UNPREDICTABLE FLAMES of Malawi, then its gona b show time again in South Africa…this is going to b a competitive warm up match for W/cup in Accra…Yvonne all i can say is that we want the best to prevail, did u see the way Senegal shocked Uruquay..wow i guess they liking the underdog tag.

    • Chris says:

I will b hving a lup sum wen i come to watch our team play their last match b4 going to Brazil,so…i was wondering if we cud hook up in Acraa, i wil definately need some body social like u Yvonne to show me around….thats if its okay wth u.

  18. yvonne says:

@prophet, hope u watched hw senegal played at the olympics. it was almost lyk GH playin-almost the same jersey, same playin style n same passion. dats the west african spirit. we always carry mother africa on our shoulders. can u handle dat?

    • Prophet says:

For yo own info Zambia always represent onthe international scene..do you know that Zambia beat the Azzuri of Italy 4-0 n for the WEST AFRICAN TEAMS none was spared by the CHIPOLOPOLO at this years AFCON…i mean SENEGAL,GHANA.and lastly yo BOSS IVORY COAST…just to add we hv beaten IVORY COAST 3times n they only managed once…so tell me wth yo fifa rankings who’s best.

    • Prophet says:

They convicingly beat Uruquay…a feat u could not,now watch wen we go to the World Cup…Zambia 4 the first time wil b the first in this continent to reach the Semis n possilbly……..bring it home-PASSION n not names does it .

  19. yvonne says:

der u go again abt the azurri. we re tired of hearin it. say smethin else. actually, i think i can summarise zambia’s footballing history at all levels in one sentence. lol. it jst dawned on me dat the current samba boys of brazil i mean, neymar oscar n lucas moura n the likes re the same players dede ayew n his mates beat 2 lift the U-20 world cup in egypt. wat have u won 4 mother africa if i may ask?

    • Lucy says:

You tell me wat hv u won?.. n am not talking about under 17,20 tournaments were there is age cheating…the answer is nothing, but u wait wen we hit the W/Cup you wil find yoself singing …CHIPOLOPOLO iyeeee CHIPOLOPOLO..iyeeeeeee,you know wat they say -if u can’t beat them join ‘em after all we all AFRICANS.

  20. yvonne says:

Age-cheatin? hehehehe. wat a joke! hw old is grandpa katongo? 29 yrs? lol. so afta yrs of bein subdued by the whites in ur own land u ve joined dem 2 sing de age-cheatin song. they ve brainwashed u in2 thinkin dat everythin black is evil. i read comments by sme sadc guys dat west africans re black. an african callin a fellow african black! wat a pity! these whites ve a way of downplayin the success story of africans. do u ve an idea hw the whites rob us africans of our nat. resources? my friend shine ur eyes n dnt ever cal a fellow african a cheat again

  21. yvonne says:

B4 i sleep, let me tell ma sweethearts the zambians dat we can promise u one thing-der wil surely b a beatin gift frm us 2 u wen u cme 2 our lovely country. it wil either be on the field of play or in the stands. the onus is now on u 2 choose whre u want it. lol *jst jokin* gudnyt

    • Lucy says:

Ha,i wud think twice bfore i say those words, beating us on the field of play?..remember that this is a team thats bn breaking yo hearts in the past 3 competive matches,so wat makes u think that history is gona change….anyway sleep tight n the only way u can go Brazil is in yo dreams…nite, nite!

  22. kwame-Blazefame says:

Asian Giants indeed, how many times have they won the asian cup and having anelka and drogba doesnt make them giants if that is what they are referring to. They are not from China. And in Asia China is one of the worst teams.

  23. Don says:

Be careful wth China they might spring up a surprise. In the friendly against South Korea wat happend to you n whilst at it, Zambia beat South Korea 4-1 in a friendly.

  24. yvonne says:

Der is no end 2 dis. hope u ve noticed the differences b/n a ghanaian comment n dat of the zambians. while we talk in terms of cups n achievements, dey talk in terms of individual games. Ghana has carved a niche 4 herself 4 the past 5 decades thru the hardwork, sacrifices, tears n blood of our national stars n ve EARNED the tag of a super power, zambia is now doin hers. u may ve beaten us numerous tyms ba dat does nt take anythn away frm wat we ve achieved n until u get into the class of GH by doin the same or mre of wat we ve done, der is no argument!

    • Lucy says:

That is why this is a perfect time to prove u wrong as we are in the same group and hopefully we meet again in a knockout stage in South Africa…all we want is to put the RECORD STRAIGHT.

      • Kay says:

@Yvone. No need to argue with a masturbating underdog. Zambia has no achievement in football apart from the one trophy they got after invoking the spirits of ghosts. The opression by whites has opiomated their thinking. They should continue referring to individual games. I wander what is in their trophy cabinet. Andre Ayew who captained the ghanaian team that delivered Africa’s first and only youth trophy, was born while his father was playing in France. If the French can accept his age while SADC insists he is overaged, then they should judge their ignorance themselves..

    • Lucy says:

The point u missing Yvonne is that all of those AFCON victories you had are irrelevant now cos much of the Continent was not yet independent and thus cud not compete….the question is hv you ever won it in a pool of 16 teamsn n the answer is NO,i wil b one of the first ppl to give u a thumbs win it…look at EGYPT,their players ply locally but the overcome all the teams who think that european leagues are superior..3times in a row in the modern era of African football…2013 is around the corner prove it that you can also do it wth 16 teams participating.

  25. Kay says:

Zambia is going nowhere with this attitude. I now understand why the British refuse their players entry visas. They are so crude and uncultured.

    • one andy says:

To the contrary Zambia is actually moving on the right path since Kalusha himself took over as FAZ chief. He understands the game and this is the reason we are seeing all these results. Its not about invoking the spirits as you are insinuating but rather a product of hardwork and proper planning on our FA.I hear you complaining about Mr Nyatanki on this forum everyday! For us its absolutely opposite coz our FA is very focussed and we believe come SA 2013,we are going there as very srious cntenders and not mere paticipants. Our coach is also very sharp and tactical. He has just included two high school boys in the team to play Zimbabwe simply because he is preparing a team for the future. So for you Kay to suggest we are going nowhere is wishful thinking. We dont wanna live on yesterdays failures but we want to prepare adequately for the future.so th future is ideed very bright for Zambia
