Fred Crentsil set to quit Hearts

Fred Crentsil is set to quit as Hearts CEO

By Patrick Akoto

Fred Crentsil will step down as the Chief Executive of Hearts when his contract expires on October 4.

The former Sekondi Hasaacas Director whose two-year mandate runs out early next month, has opted to give way to another person to run the affairs of the club.

The experienced football administrator wants to concentrate  fully on his new job as the vice president of the Ghana Football Association.

Crentsil came under intense pressure to quit his post prematurely after the Phobians ended last season without a silverware.

Those pushing for his exit argue he has done little to enhance the club’s brand.

His inability to land a headline and supporting sponsors to rival that of sworn rivals Asante Kotoko has been labeled as an unpardonable failure by section of the club fans.

He incurred the wrath of some supporters when he claimed he was begged into taken up the job when it became vacant.

How does he fail with a club but get a big job at the FA

  2. Fresher says:

He should give us a break with his tedious “OPPORTUNISTIC GIMMICK”, He should have quit that opportunistic “POST” long before now so that everyone could believe him to be a honest gentleman, but instead, he stayed for so long and benefited alot ( in an opportunistic manner) from that post. Well, may be he is facing his “ZUGZWANG” moment out of frustrations. “ZUGZWANG” occurs when a “CHESS”player has no good move because every move “LOSES” the game. Lol

Good bye Fred. Hearts need a CEO with the attitude and mentality of Harry Zakour and Thomas Okine.

Thank you Mr. CEO for everything, the phobian universe wishes you the best in your future endeavors. we are solidly behind you as you take your place at the F.A. stay focused and blessed

  5. KT says:

Does is not sound baffling that a highly accomplished diplomat like Fred failed to secure a prestigious sponsorship deal for a huge brand like Hearts? I think there is more to it than we the fans just sitting somewhere and ranting for his removal, or non-renewal of his contract. Hon. Lamptey owns, SIDALCO, which sponsors a couple of clubs in the league. He is also one of the owners of the club. Why are the fans not on him rather? I think the top hierarchy of the club have what it takes to secure whatever sponsorship, but from information I’m privy to, they want to build an attractive brand, that will attract the largest deals, other than ‘begging’ or negotiating. Because each of these shareholders business’ acumen alone can help get mega deals. They want to do things differently, so fellow phobians, cool down.

  6. Fresher says:

@ KT-: You are one of the crafty and decietful liars I have ever read from, please tell your fellow unaware phobians the truth ask to why H O OAKS failed to attract sponsors and stop misleading them with your daily slogan of, the board members are businessmen of international acumen, Blah, blah……. Tell your fellow phobians that H of Oaks as a club can be likened to an old woman who is being “screwed” by anyone but nobody wants get involved with her.
