Ghana youth winger Frank Acheampong made his Belgian Pro League debut for Anderlecht on Sunday as they suffered a shock home defeat against Lokeren.

The 19-year-old joined the 32-time Pro League title winners from Thai side Buriram United late last season but he was unable to break into the first team squad.

Anderlecht boss Jean van den Brom has drafted the winger into his plans after he showed great precocity at the 2013 FIFA U20 World Cup in Turkey last month.

After failing to make an appearance in the Super Cup win over KRC Genk - warming the bench in the entire regulation minutes, he finally made his debut as the giants suffered a 3-2 away defeat.

He came off the bench in the 69th minute to replace Demy de Zeeuw at the Stade Constant Vanden Stock on Sunday evening.

The former King Faisal playmaker is expected to gradually warm himself into the team and gain an automatic starting place.
