Posted On Friday, 5th October 2012

The Black Maidens will meet France in the semi-finals on Tuesday

Ghana have set-up a semi-final date with France after a 1-0 win over Japan in the quarter-finals of the Fifa Under-17 Women’s Championship on Friday.

Sherifatu Sumaila’s 53rd minute goal handed the  ambitious Ghanaian side the precious victory against the Asian giants on Friday night.

Head coach Masa-ud Didi Dramani and his players will now look ahead to Tuesday’s semi-final meeting against France as their fairy tale story continues.

The European side toppled Nigeria at the quarter-final stage by beating them 3-2 on penalties to set-up a date with the West African heavyweights.

The Ghanaians will go into the history books as the first African side to have reached the semi-final stage of the world showpiece.

France will now stand in the way of the Ghanaians to qualify to the finals of the Under-17 Women’s Championship in Azerbaijan.

Well disciplined, tactical, defensive and counter-offensive display of the game by a well talented superb Black Maidens and their fantastic technical team led by coach “DIDI”! The Black Stars should devote a couple of hours to really analyse and take a very good look at the recording of the match! There are a lot of “things” they can learn form the match!
