Veteran midfielder Laryea Kingston remains hopeful of gatecrashing the Black Stars squad when he signs for a new club.

The 34-year-old has not played since leaving Hearts of Oak in 2013 when he was slapped with an indefinite suspension for beating up the club’s accountant.

Kingston’s international took a nose-dive after he was axed from Ghana’s preliminary squad to the 2010 FIFA World Cup finals in South Africa.

It is unknown whether he would still be interested in playing in the Ghana Premier League after his recent comments about the state of the league.

"I took a break from football but I have not announced my retirement.  I can still come back and play,” Kingston told the Graphic Sports.

"The Ghanaian transfer window is closed, so I can't tell if I will be playing for a local side. When I am fit and I start playing actively, if a Black Stars call-up comes I will honour it."

Kingston’s playing career has seen him feature for clubs in Israel, Russia, Scotland and Holland.
