Stephen Offei has signed for Indian champions Dempo FC
Former Hearts of Oak defender Stephen Offei has joined Indian I-League champions Dempo FC on a season-long contract, MTNFootball.com can confirm.
The 26-year-old free agent landed the deal with the Panjim-based side after completing a successful short term trial last month.
Dempo coach Armando Agnelo Colaso is expecting the center-back to play a crucial role in their domestic title defence and their Asian Champions League campaign.
His agent Dionysios Georgantopoulos believes the Indian Premier League will be a better platform for Offei to relaunch his career.
“Dempo will be playing in the Asian Champions League and I think this will be good for him,” the Greek agent told MTNFootball.com
“When he starts playing again, he will pick his good old form.”

YOU ARE A FOOL. FOOOL FOR GOING TO INDIA. U WILL EAT CUIRRY N COME BACK INHURED. IS INDIA A PLACE TO GO N PLAY SOCCER? U ARE BETTER OFF DEAD THAN PLAYING IN INDIA TRUST ME……
@GH FUO, THINK BIG….You are Big Fooool. Feed yourself and your family before u come to pour thrash here. You think everyone can play the English premiership?…If you care to know..he is earning higher than most of the top players who will play forever in the Ghana premier league and die as players. Better criticize our league first before u attack him foool.
Ghana is definitely a hot spot for finding super footballing talents. But, that doesn’t make your premier league a top class league. First, pressurize the federation for your own national league for putting some serious investments on infrastructure and marketing, atleast within the nation of Ghana. Since, the players are world class, though the league is not, these players would obviously be on high demand everywhere else, that includes India’s premier I-League too. And, what the hell do you know about Indian football and I-League?? If you have zero knowledge, then its better that you just keep your mouth shut bro!! You are calling those players as fools who opt to play in India, without even a single proper reason, only lame reason being that they have to eat curry (do you have good food for 4 times a day, well we do, and our food is delicious, if you haven’t tried, its not just leaves and shrubs, its more compact and energetic than that). The top 5-6 I-League clubs have an annual budget of Rs. 15 crores (US$ 3,000k) each. Being with Dempo SC, the defending champions, your food menu will even get better, with 5 star hospitality and professional approach on every sectors, unlike any clubs in Ghana league. And, our foreign recruits are not just from Ghana, but also from England, France, Brazil, Costa Rica, Spain, Australia, Argentina, and many other nations based on America, Africa and Asia, and some among them even have displayed their game on top class leagues like EPL, Japan’s J-League, Australia’s A-League and French Ligue-1. Now, please don’t say Ghana is better than these set of nations. And, if they have no problems and enjoying every moment playing here, why should any player from a financially struggling nation like Ghana be so much concerned. I personally feels that he too would currently be excited about this move and would be enjoying his time over here for every single piece of time that he is spenting here. So, just being an arm chair fan, try supporting them, instead of playing some blame games against our nations.
Stop being so emotional. Any Ghanaian playing in a league not considered top 10 will get some flack on this site. It is just the culture here.
I will say that if you playing a better football then your fee will higher and it might help you. Thanks for coming to INDIA.
