Former Ghana defender Samuel Osei Kuffour remains bullish of Ghana’s chances of beating Egypt in Tuesday’s 2014 World Cup qualifying play-off.
The Black Stars host the Pharaohs at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi in the first-leg of their 2014 World Cup qualifying play-off on Tuesday and are in pole position to claim victory over the North Africans.
However, Egypt’s long-standing dominance over the West African giants which has seen them record 10 victories over Ghana while drawing 5 times in 21 encounters give a real concern to Ghana fans.
But the former Bayern Munich star defender who was capped over 60 times by Ghana is optimistic of a Ghana victory.
“Why do you have to be afraid? We will against the Egyptians,” he told Asempa FM’s Kofi Asare Brako.
Most of Ghana’s ex internationals including Augustine Arhinful, Tony Baffoe, Tony Yeboah and John Mensah have all travelled to Kumasi to inspire Ghana to win over the Egyptians.
