Former Ghana first lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings was in the stands to watch New Edubiase battle Diables Noir in their return fixture of the CAF Confederation Cup last weekend.
The enigmatic Ghanaian lady was in Congo to support her husband and former Ghanaian President Jerry John Rawlings who was honoured by the United Cities and Local Governments of Africa at a ceremony hosted by President Denis Sassou Nguesso in Brazzaville.
The leader of the newly formed Democratic Freedom Party offered words of encouragement to players of the Bekwai-based aside ahead of the game.
She was seen in stands offering her support to the Ghanaian side as they lost 5-4 on penalties to Diables Noir in the return leg of the Africaââ¬â¢s second-rated inter-club competition.
ââ¬ÅWe want to thank her Excellency Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings for the support that she gave us,â⬠club president Abdul Salam Yakubu told Happy FM
ââ¬ÅShe came to us and gave words of encouragement to the players and we thank her for everything.
ââ¬ÅShe was in the stands to support us and it was obvious she wasnââ¬â¢t happy with most the refereeing decision.
ââ¬ÅGod should bless her for supporting us.ââ¬
Edubiase have since arrived home from Congo.
