Former FC Panthers striker Bernard Don Bortey has revealed the climatic conditions in Mongomo will favour the Black Stars at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

Bortey, who is out of contract with the Equatoguinean side, says the weather in Mongomo is similar to that in the Ghanaian capital.

The former Hearts of Oak man says Ghana will not struggle to adapt to life in the city as they prepare to face Group C opponents South Africa, Algeria and Senegal-all firm favourites for the title.

“Mongomo is almost like Accra with the weather condition almost similar to that in Accra,” Bortey told GHANAsoccernet.com

“The fact that both South Africa and Algeria enjoy vastly different weather condition could play in our favor.”

Ghana has failed to win the Nations Cup since 1982 remain one of the favourities to annex the trophy at next year’s finals.
