Emmanuel Frimpong has signed for Russian club UFA

Former Arsenal midfielder and Ghana international Emmanuel Frimpong has ended his search for club by completing his transfer to Russian Premier League side FC Ufa.

The 22-year-old has signed a three-year deal for the Russian club and will wear the No. 5 shirt.

This comes after his proposed move to Austrian giants Sturm Graz fell through last month.

The one-time Ghana international left Arsenal to join now-Football League side Barnsley in January, but was released after just four months at Oakwell following the club’s relegation to England’s third-tier league.

Frimpong had loan spells at Wolves, Charlton and Fulham during his three-year journey with Arsenal’s first team.

An anterior cruciate ligament injury sidelined him for nine months, thereby preventing him from making his senior team debut.

He eventually earned featured for the ‘Gunners” first-team in August 2011 and went on to make 5 more Premier League appearances.

His only Ghana cap came in a World Cup 2014 qualifier against Sudan in March 2013.
